Kayla and Justin reached out as they were getting ready to fly and take custody of Silas, their number four. Yes, you read that right! Silas was going home to three more siblings! As they were coming without the other three, we set up a short family photography session. We wanted to make some beautiful photos home for everyone from Silas’ birth land. We decided on Gyeongbokgung as it was close and convenient for the family.
As it was the end of summer, it wasn’t too hot and sticky, but we decided to have a morning session, either way, to stay as cool as possible. Thankfully, with the passing typhoon, we had cloud cover that not only provided beautiful soft light but also gave us a little respite from the heat. That was great because Silas wanted to keep moving around!
Silas was awake and smiling when we met, so we started off right away with some shots of the whole family together. Then we got a couple of shots with mum and dad before braving a quick toss in the air. Thankfully, he loved that and we got a few more angles on it. We then started playing peek-a-boo for a while, which he simply didn’t want to stop! To wrap up, we took a walk together and got a final shot with just Kayla and Silas.
Gyeongbokgung makes for a great morning location, especially in spring and autumn when the sunrise is a little later. On bright sunny days, it can be tough to find spaces away from the crowds, but with a cloudy day like this, it’s just perfect. The great weather along with Silas’ cuter-than-can-be smile made for a great session. Thanks again to the Ott family!
