We’ve been quite family photography oriented around here for a while now. So, I thought it might be time to get back onto some pre-wedding photography for a change of pace. In April of this year, I had the chance to work with the amazing Kevin and Malia. They’re living and working here in Seoul, and we got together for what turned out to be one of the most beautiful days of the year.
Weather is always so unpredictable in Seoul. Mostly, the weather report really cannot be trusted. On this particular day, rain was forecast for the entire day. Looking out the windows that morning, it seemed we would get drenched. However, by the time we finished makeup and wound up our first section in a local coffee shop, the sky had cleared to the most beautiful blue and was filled with puffy white clouds. A beautiful Spring day. The unexpected bonus, of course, was that the rain had kept most people inside. So, we would have relatively empty locations for the shoot. We could not have been luckier!
I worked with Kevin and Malia to choose locations that would represent their time here in Korea, but also work well for the types of shots they wanted. We combined a local cafe with the Han River Park at Banpo, and then wound up our session in the streets of Gangnam for the evening part of the session. A four-hour session like this one allows us a good amount of time to switch out clothing and move between locations for a lot of variety.
Autumn is just around the corner, and is, with its clean air and gorgeous foliage, possibly the only season nicer than Spring here. To book your own session for October or November, get in early for your choice of dates.
