Last year, the Sarracino family visited Seoul to complete the adoption process for their first son, Jaden. During this time, we did two sessions together. First, we spent a couple of hours together to document the process of taking custody. Then, a few short days later, we got together again to have a family portrait session under the autumn leaves.
We arrived at the agency to meet Jaden with his foster family for the last time before Jamie and John took final custody. When we arrived, we discovered that he was feeling a little under the weather because of the seasonal cold. That wouldn’t stop him from tucking right into a jar of puffs or poking his tongue out with a couple still attached, though. Although he was moving a little slower than usual, Jaden was still going from person to person in the room showing his love. Maybe the only situation Jaden didn’t have love for was the doctor’s visit. The cold stethoscope was just too much for him!
After getting into the car to head home, Jaden went straight to sleep and didn’t bat an eyelid. He only woke up when we got out of the car to head upstairs. Of course, he woke up looking for puffs! Here, Jaden, John, and Jamie all got to have some discovery time. They read a book together, explored the house, Jaden took his parents for a walk, and at some point during it, lost a strap for his overalls. Then, it came time for me to go. But, we would meet again shortly after to explore the outdoors.
Jaden was still not well when we met again, but he was certainly ready to have some fun. We had some beautiful light this day that played well with our leaf throwing and family walks through the palace. Right at the end of our session, we decided to attempt getting Jaden into his Hanbok. We didn’t get to keep him in it for long, but we managed to snag a couple of cute shots to wrap up the session.
