Last, I had the pleasure of being Nadya and Guhya’s wedding photographer. I have a great deal of respect for those who choose to get married in Seoul. It can be difficult to organise a wedding that breaks out of the mould here. Nadya and Guhya did just that. They personalised their wedding and made a wonderful day for everyone.
The wedding party consisted of both Nadya and Guhya’s families who flew in from Indonesia and Kazakhstan for the ceremony, school friends and colleagues from Korea. Nobody was spared from the fun that would ensue. The wedding kept many of Nadya’s traditions and games, despite the difficulty in having the wedding hall understand what she wanted to do. Their friends ran about the room collecting personal possessions – wallets, belts, and even shoes – fro
m members of the wedding party in ‘bring me…’ and wrestled to free themselves from being bound to a stranger forever in ‘rope’.
The venue, La Luce in Myeongdong, was again atypical for a Korean wedding hall and really complimented Nadya and Guhya’s wedding with its high-domed glass ceiling and rooftop garden. A beautiful location for a beautiful wedding.
Congratulations to you both and all the best!
